The book tells, in my opinion, what the whole case was. What we see normally in short films and documents, or even feature film, is not everything to the story. Most documents and programs focuses the abduction only, very little other things that happened to Barney and Betty in their lives. So the book will tell a lot more than just the incident.

In short, they experienced abduction in 1961. We learn their lives before and after. We get to go through the hypnosis in chapters 6-14, from total of 25.

We learn that they didn’t want to tell their experience to anyone, although they reported the event to NICAP, close to the 1961 happening. They didn’t want to tell about the case to public at first, fearing to lose their jobs and how it would affect their lives.

In December 1963, they met Dr Benjamin Simons, who hypnotized both of them later, in three week sessions. Later on, in 1965, their experience leaked out, and a journalist wanted to write story of it. With lawyers they tried to fight against the publication to be released. Unfortunately, reports and interviews recorded, were leaked out and article released October 1965.

And then media circus started and they became famous of being abducted by ufo.

As we know today, many articles, television programs, interviews, books and even feature film, was released during upcoming years.

What is interesting, is, that they kept having weird experiences at home and outside of home. They even set up sky watch in 1967, in order to contact aliens again.

They got critique about their experience from many places. They even experienced men home invasions, where somebody got inside their home many times, while they were away. Those experiments made them setup alarm system to stop their home invaders.

Conclusion:

The book is good to understand more what the hole phenomena meant to Barney and Betty’s lives. Recommended to read, if you want to know what it was.
